When I first discovered my son is profoundly gifted, a world of possibilities burst open before my eyes. I imagined him growing up to be someone extraordinary – perhaps a renowned scientist, a brilliant mathematician, or a world-changing inventor.
But as we journey through our daily lives together, a realization dawns on me. It isn’t his potential for great achievements that truly matters; it’s his innate nature – his kind heart, his love for people, and his gentle care for plants and animals.
I begin to see that my true joy doesn’t lie in the anticipation of his future accomplishments, but in the simple, beautiful moments we share every day. Watching him giggle as he plays in the yard, witnessing his fascination with the tiny insects that crawl on the leaves, and hearing his thoughtful questions about the world around us – these instances fill me with a deeper sense of pride and happiness than any imagined future success.
